Bridgewater-Raritan High School is a state sectional playoff champion in football for the first time in school history. Top-seeded Bridgewater-Raritan defeated sixth-seeded Bayonne High School, 21-14, in the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 5 state sectional playoff final on Friday night, November 13, before an enthusiastic and large crowd at Basilone Memorial Field in Bridgewater. Bridgewater-Raritan will now play Passaic County Tech at Basilone Memorial Field in the Group 5 state playoff semifinals on either November 21 or 22.

Bridgewater-Raritan will now seek to avenge last year's matchup when it meets Westfield High School in the state sectional final on Saturday, November 15, in Westfield.
