Veteran broadcast meteorologist John Marshall presented his weather forecast to students at the John F.. Kennedy Primary School on Thursday, March 13.
Mr. Marshall, who spent 25 years delivering weather forecasts in New York City for CBS, NBC and Fox stations developed his own road-show weather station.
The 3rd Grade students attended an assembly at JFK to watch his “John’s Weather Tour.”
According to his website, Mr. Marshall is the owner of John Marshall Weather LLC, which provides educators and students with school weather assemblies (in person or virtual) that can be tailored for early elementary students to 8th graders and includes the mobile weather studio, aka, the green screen.
Kim Cook, a 3rd Grade Teacher at JFK, was among the crowd assembled who received a first-hand look at predicting and forecasting weather.
“John Marshall visited the students to share about weather patterns, data collection, and how TV studios display forecasts,” Ms.Cook reported. “He brought in his weather station, as well as a green screen and camera. Select students had the chance to get in front of the camera and try their hand at reporting!”
For you weather buffs, Thursday, March 13, will be a day of sun and clouds and a bit cooler with temperatures near 50 degrees.
