JFK staff delivers a kind act of giving during Thanksgiving week

The kind act of giving was delivered during this holiday season by the staff at John F. Kennedy Primary School.

“The JFK staff did something really impressive. They did a huge collection of food and supplies for students and their families for Thanksgiving. A bunch of us even delivered the food to their houses yesterday (November 21),” reported JFK Principal Aldo Russo.

This terrific gesture has been associated with the JFK Giving Tree, which was launched 10 years ago and is spearheaded by Jo Anne Herring, who is kindergarten teacher at the school in Raritan.

The staff had observed that some students were lacking the basic necessities, which are vital for a student to concentrate and learn in school. Several times a year, the JFK staff makes donations to supply families with food, holiday gifts, foods and supplies.

Principal Russo is in his first year in his position at JFK, and was touched by his first experience with his kind act.

“I am blown away by the generosity and the kind spirit of the JFK staff,’ Principal Russo said. “They are incredible people who always put others first. I am incredibly humbled to be a part of such an amazing group of people.”
