Update - COVID-19 - Day 9 - Sunset - 3/26/2020

Members of the B-R Community,

Thanks to everyone for showing off  your incredible dance moves! Check out our #BRingonthespirit here. The sun sets tomorrow on our week of spirit. Hold nothing back as you show us your crazy hair and favorite hats.

Two important updates/reminders:

  1. Next week will be a full week of distance learning. It will also be the last week of our third marking period. Marking period grades will be finalized using a “no harm, only help” approach. As our initial rollout of Distance Learning has been different for everyone, work that students have been able to do can help them, but work during Distance Learning will not lower any overall marking period grades. Marking Period 4 will begin when we return from Spring Break on April 14, 2020. We will share information regarding schedule and grading practices for Marking Period 4 next week. Again, our online platform will be open for families to use during this time. Teachers will not be updating lessons or responding to email over the break, but class resources will remain available for families to access. Students and families do not have to send in attendance over the break.
  2. Online classrooms are classrooms. All district policies and school rules continue to apply. All of our district work is done through the approved, BRRSD Google platform. On this platform, teachers and staff may lead instruction and run meetings. Participants will vary, but all are protected by district policy. This means that no video or image should be taken of any of our online classroom activities. Teachers may record sessions to post in their Google Classrooms as resources to help students, but these images do not leave our platform, just as they would not leave our classroom. While we may choose to post our spirit and other Distance Learning activities on social media, these do not come directly out of our classrooms. Please ensure that students and  families are not taking images or videos during our classrooms as this creates a violation of policy as well as issues of privacy and protection. The Acceptable Use Agreement signed by all at the beginning of each year and all district policies are still in place to protect everyone, even in this online, Distance Learning environment. Let’s keep everyone safe.

If you haven’t seen the fun everyone is having, you don’t know what you’re missing. Students, family members, and staff galore are making this time fun for us all. Join us!

Reminders for Day 9:
